ENDLESS APRIL

It is effing cold in Chicago.

It goes up to 70 at the most during the day.

Usually it only gets to the 60s, if that.

More often than not it's in the 50s when you wake up.

It goes down into the 40s at night.

It rains, like, all the time.

People are wearing layers.

The clever ones are calling it "June-uary."

They are saying things like, "It's not global warming, it's global weirding."

As someone who suffers in the heat - and whose car AC gave out last year, and who travels to India during monsoon in order to avoid the heat - I kind of like it.

Actually, I love it.

For now anyway.

Photo of paleta-wallah snapped out my window on a recent school day. It was 80 degrees. Muy calinete. By nightfall the temperature had dropped to 40. Pinche frio. No wonder the people here don't age well.

    paleta-wallah !

today i got pretty fed up with the rain as i smushed myself into the sad tokyo style filled train amongst the drunk cub fans at 11 am (game time was noon) complete with cans of bud light passed amongst them.

i hope i can ride the bike tomorrow.
